Studios & Facilities
_Our first stages opened in January 2022, including a full scale virtual production facility. Further sound stages are set to open in June 2022.
Each stage has 1’800 square meters of studio space and 1000 square meters of office and workshop spaces. The facility aims to expand to a total of 12 sound stages with 25’000 square meters of studio space in the next three years.
_In partnership with Hyperbowl, Penzing Studios is home to Europe’s leading state of the art virtual production facility.
As Germany’s first virtual production stage, established in March 2020, it is operated by one of the most experienced crews globally in this emerging field with 50+ successful projects realized.
Production & Co-Producing Services
_Penzing Studios combines infrastructure with full-service production services for studio productions including line producing, stage and set design, transport & logistics, post-production.
We also offer co-producing services that can arrange tax credit and regional subsidy funding.
Recent credits include “Kung Fury II” starring Michael Fassbender and Arnold Schwarzenegger, “Guns Akimbo” starring Daniel Radcliffe and “The Happy Prince” starring Colin Firth.
Digital & Creative Hub
In partnership with leading global architecture firm Snohetta, Penzing Studios is working on the expansion of the facility into a creative and digital media hub that will house post-production, visual effects, gaming, digital media and technology companies, education opportunities, an event center and auditorium, and hospitality infrastructure to create 1000+ jobs by 2025.
Penzing Studios will be the world’s first zero-emission film studio. Based on Snohetta’s powerhouse concept, all structures added to the existing facilities will use rammed earth and timber to create an attractive and sustainable working environment.
